'There is no railway journey of comparable length anywhere in the
world. The trans-Siberian is the big train ride. All the rest are peanuts.'

Best Value Golden Eagle bookings
We offer the famous Golden Eagle trans-Siberian based on the US dollar. Our clients pay in Australian dollars based on the prevailing bank rate of exchange. Our clients directly benefit from the strength of the Australian dollar. Other agents fix their prices up to a year ahead with a big margin over normal exchange rates. Compare our rates to other agents. Plus we process all necessary visas free of charge (you merely pay the applicable consular fee.)
Our standard Trans-Siberian itineraries are based on the normal services of Russian, Mongolian and Chinese trains. Forget the Doctor Zhivago image of people cramped into cattle trucks; the compartments of these trains are reasonably comfortable, well heated in the winter and reliable. But overall we could not describe the amenities as anything else but basic. For those who want to experience the Trans-Siberian Railway in style and luxury then look no further than 'The Golden Eagle", a private train for the discerning traveller.

Officially launched by the British Prince Michael of Kent in 2007, the Golden Eagle is the epitome of luxurious train travel. All cabins feature power showers, under floor heating (or air conditioning if needed), DVD/CD player with LCD screens, audio systems, recessed lighting and wardrobe space. The dining experience is akin to a top class restaurant with caviar and fine wines as standard on the menu. All in all its a far cry from the normal Trans-Siberian Express trains.
Trip prices include well planned and arranged tour excursions (in English) at the various stops en route. The whole operation is monitored by a Tour Management team and each departure carries an English speaking doctor.
The Golden Eagle is the only luxurious way to see Russia.
Hi Simon,
The trip was great! The Golden Eagle was comfortable and very well organized - thank you for suggesting it. Saint Petersburg was mind-blowing.
All arrangements - hotels, tours, flights - worked perfectly.
Thanks for your greatly appreciated assistance.

There are now three standards of class on the Golden Eagle.
Gold class cabins have an area of 77 square feet with an array of facilities as outlined above. These cabins are some of the largest rail cabins available worldwide.
Silver class cabins have an area of 60 square foot but with the same facilities as Gold class. The difference in cabin size is reflected in a smaller shower area.
New for 2012 is the magnificent Imperial Suites. These cabins are a huge 120 square, large enough for a double bed, lounge area and of course private en suite bathroom.
This tour was fantastic - as you know I have travelled extensively and it is most definitely the best train journey I have taken and therefore ranked among the best holidays I have ever had.
